Stem Cell and Platelet Procedures for Foot / Ankle Injuries & Osteoarthritis
Regenexx® Stem Cell Procedures are breakthrough, non-surgical stem-cell treatments for people suffering from the most common joint injuries, as well as degenerative conditions, such as osteoarthritis. Foot and ankle injuries are common among athletes and many of these injuries can be treated non-surgically with stem cell therapy, platelet-rich plasma or prolotherapy, depending on the nature and severity of the injury. As we get older, ankle arthritis is also common and can be accelerated by injuries experienced during our younger days. Vermont Regenerative Medicine offers the nation’s most advanced Stem Cell and PRP procedures available. Contact us today for an appointment to evaluate your condition, or complete the Candidate Form below for more information about our stem cell treatments and to learn if you’re a good candidate for one of these procedures.

Ankle Patient Outcome Data
Most of the foot and ankle patients in this data summary had either moderate or severe main ankle joint arthritis, with many also having either lax ligaments and/or partial tendon tears. A few patients also had sub-talar arthritis. Because this is a smaller data set, all time points were collapsed, such that the last available report was used ( about 17 months post procedure on average).
Ankle Injuries, Arthritis and the Regenexx Stem Cell Procedure
Stem Cells are in all of us and they are responsible for healing injured bone, ligaments, tendons and tissues. They are the key component behind the Regenexx Procedures. As we get older or injured, we sometimes cannot get enough of these cells into the area in need. The Regenexx Procedures help solve that problem by precisely delivering a high concentration of stem cells and growth factors into the injured area, aiding your body’s ability to heal naturally. Patients typically avoid the long, painful rehabilitation periods to restore joint strength and mobility following surgery. Regenexx patients typically experience very little down-time from the procedure, if any at all.
Regenexx Stem Cell Procedures in the News
Regenexx Stem Cell Procedure OverviewThe Regenexx Stem Cell Procedure begins when the doctor thoroughly numbs the back of the hip (PSIS) and takes a small bone marrow sample through a needle, as well as a blood draw from a vein in the arm. The marrow is rich in Mesenchymal Stem Cells, which are responsible for healing damaged tissues. The stems cells are isolated from the marrow sample and platelets are isolated from the blood sample. After preparation, these two components will be reinjected directly into the damaged area of the joint using advanced imaging guidance. This ensures the cells are delivered to the exact location of need.
